定义

本条例的解释适用下列定义：

  • “Attendance” includes, but is not limited to: attendance in person or by electronic technologies for students who are not physically present in the classroom.
  • “教育al record” is defined as any record maintained by the University of Saint Joseph or by a person acting for the institution that is directly related to the student.  例子包括但不限于：
    • 所修课程及成绩的正式成绩单；
    • 学生资助及贷款资料；
    • 学费及付款记录；
    • 学生违纪记录；
    • 课程记录（例如考试、学期论文、论文等）；
    • 基于学生身份的就业记录
    • 教育记录不包括以下内容：
      • 由建议者单独管有，除临时代替建议者外，其他任何人不得查阅或透露的纪录（例如意见笔记）；
      • 就业 records that are maintained in the normal course of business relating exclusively to the individual in that person’s capacity as an employee;
      • 医疗记录；

  • “Legitimate educational interest” exists if the information requested by the school official is necessary for the official to perform a task specified by his/her position description or contract agreement.

目录信息

Institutions may disclose information on a student without violating FERPA if it has designated that information as “directory information”. 圣约瑟夫大学将目录信息定义为：
